Born and Lost, 2015, 2016, 2017

Plaster and Sound

Organic forms appear, alluding to the nature of creation and destruction. The forms may be growing, may have been born, may have been lost, or may have been released. What the forms are is unknown. What we create is uncertain.

A familiar melody is heard in the distance... a voice sings and sighs an old ballad, the sound echoes and multiplies and strangely modulates ... existence and reality become a dream...

Exhibited in Sydney at the MCA Studio Gallery for the Master of Contemporary Art Degree and SCA Galleries as part of Symbiosis, curated by Bunny Jin, David Yao, Difei Feng and Mocha Yi Zhang.

Thank you to Ngaire Kirwan and Niyati Libotte for their exquisite vocals recorded for the installation.

White room studio photography by Chong Zhan.
